IT House News on October 6, LG Electronics announced yesterday (local time) that its North American branch and HVAC service company AIR Control Concepts have reached a long-term supply agreement involving advanced chillers for artificial intelligence data centers (AIDC) exceeding 5GW in scale. AIR is responsible for very large infrastructure projects in major data center hubs in North America, and its primary customers are the world's leading data center operators. This long-term contract will accelerate LG’s entry into the global AIDC cooling market and meet the growing demand for efficient cooling solutions for computing infrastructure. LG's AIDC chiller combines a centrifugal air-cooling structure and refrigerant natural cooling technology to use outdoor cold air to reduce the compressor cooling load. According to LG’s internal simulations, refrigerant free cooling technology can save approximately 30% of energy per year compared to water cooling technology.
