IT Home, Oct. 13 — Bloomberg Intelligence recently published a briefing on AI data centre costs: combining data from Cushman & Wakefield with its own analysis, building a 1GW data centre in Abilene, Texas, could cost up to $30.7 billion (about RMB 205.87 billion at current rates). That $30.7 billion breaks into ten parts, of which core chips and server hardware account for more than half at $17.1 billion, power supply infrastructure $3.0 billion, cooling systems $1.66 billion and network cabling $1.07 billion. On top of that: land purchase $180 million, overall design and engineering $361 million, construction $2.4 billion, contingency and reserves $2.79 billion, commissioning $175 million, and $382 million of miscellaneous costs.
