Hotkeys

On a web page, press A three times for reading mode, E for the editor, and Q to clip with the default template. Ignored while typing in text fields.
Choose one letter or digit for each action. Leave it empty to turn that action off.
One site per line, for example mail.google.com. Subdomains are included. You can also turn it off for the current site from the clipper menu.

Backup and labs

Export all settings including templates and properties.
Import all settings including templates and properties. This will replace your current configuration.

Clipping and saving

Vaults

By default, clipped notes are saved to the currently open vault. You can add vaults here if you want the option to save to different vaults. Vault names must exactly match the name of the Obsidian vault. Press enter to add a vault.

    Saving

    Choose the default option for saving pages. Alternate options appear in the dropdown menu next to the main button.
    Choose how Web Clipper opens by default.
    Used when no template trigger matches the page, and for keyboard shortcut clipping.
    Clipped notes will be saved but will not open as a new tab. Obsidian will still be brought to the foreground.

    Sharing

    Off by default. When on, the share option in the clipper is checked for you, and clips are submitted publicly to the Reader Submissions feed.

    Advanced

    Uses the URI clipping method compatible with Obsidian 1.6.7 or earlier. Note that the length of the content you can clip is limited by your browser and OS. Some pages may fail without any errors.
    Remove any changes you've made to the default template.

    Learning notes

    Learning notes

    Add a note button and the N key to the reading and video pages. Notes are appended to today's daily note in your vault through the local helper.
    When a note has selected text, write it into the diary as a quote. You can also switch it per note in the note card.
    Write the page or video link, and the video time, in the diary entry. You can also switch it per note in the note card.
    Show a small toolbar next to selected text in the reading and editing pages, with Highlight and Ask AI.

    On YouTube, add Copy, Download and Study buttons next to the Chapters / Transcript tabs of the transcript panel.
    On a video page, expand YouTube's transcript panel once so the transcript is ready for copying, downloading and study mode. Close it and it stays closed for that video.
    When the transcript opens automatically, hide YouTube's panel in the right column. The transcript bar shows the same lines. A panel you open yourself is never hidden.

    把视频或节目的标题、作者、简介作为背景交给识别，减少人名、品牌和术语写错。简介里的错别字也可能被当成对的；用云端时这些公开信息会随音频一起发送。

      Use natural language to extract data from pages. For example, you can use the template syntax {{"a summary of the page"}}. Requires an API key or custom model configured below. Learn more.
      Run prompt variables immediately if the template contains any. This will consume API credits with your model provider. Turn off if you only want to run interpreter manually.

      Providers

      By using an external provider you agree to their terms and privacy policy. Interpreter requests are sent directly to the provider you choose. Obsidian does not gather or store any data about your requests.

      Properties

      To import your properties from Obsidian, locate the types.json file in the .obsidian folder within your vault. Note this folder is hidden by default on most operating systems.
      Save Web Clipper properties to a types.json file that can be imported into your Obsidian vault, or into Web Clipper on other devices.
      Remove all properties that are not used in any template.
