Why can the result be larger?
When re-encoding already well-compressed images at high quality settings, output can exceed the original. The tool warns you clearly and lets you decide — your original file is never modified.
Is this lossless compression?
No. JPEG and WebP are lossy formats; quality is traded for size. This page says so honestly.
Does it modify my original file?
No. Everything happens in your browser's memory; you download a newly generated file and the original stays untouched.
Do you support PNG?
Yes, PNG can be processed and output as JPG or WebP. For images with transparency you want to keep, use the Image Converter instead.
